PSG, OM and Stade Rennais will be set in the Champions League group stage draw on Thursday.
Since the qualifications of Krasnodar (against Paok), Red Bull Salzburg (against Maccabi Tel Aviv) and Midtjylland (ahead of Slavia Prague), Wednesday night, in the Champions League play-offs, we now know the full range of the group stage of the 2020-2021 season. The draw is scheduled for Thursday, from 5 p.m., near Geneva.
If the PSG is obviously placed in the seed pot, along with other national champions but also Sevilla, the last winner of the Europa League, theOM and the Rennais Stadium are therefore part of the 8 teams in the 4th hat. Sky and White and Red and Black therefore have a good chance of falling on heavy, very heavy. Even Leipzig, Inter Milan and Atalanta feature in the 3rd hat and will be potential opponents!
The dangers of hat 2
For the three French representatives, it will be a question of avoiding a strong opponent in hat 2, which indeed features Barça, Atlético, both Manchester as well as Borussia Dortmund and Chelsea. Within the first two hats, only Zenith, FC Porto, Shakhtar Donetsk and Ajax will be more affordable opponents for Marseillais and Rennais.
Note that the first 3 days of this new season of the Champions League will follow in 15 days, October 20 and 21, October 27 and 28, then November 3 and 4.
