Which TV channels will show Formula 1 live at the 2020 Eifel Grand Prix?

Formula 1 on TV at the Grand Prix of the Eifel 2020 in Nürburgring: RTL, Sky, ORF and SRF show the race live on German-language television.

RTL relies on proven staff in the 2020 Formula 1 season: Heiko Waßer and former Formula 1 driver Christian Danner comment on the races. Kai Ebel is at the start as a pit reporter. Due to the Formula 1 broadcast, Florian König continues to be the moderator at RTL. Former world champion Nico Rosberg and DTM driver Timo Glock are at his side as experts.

Free TV broadcaster RTL will only start broadcasting Formula 1 on Saturday at a racing weekend. The Friday training sessions, on the other hand, can still be seen on ntv, often live. However, only in the 2020 season: RTL is letting the Formula 1 contract expire after almost 30 years and will no longer transfer Formula 1 from 2021.

Sky will also be at the start in the 2020 Formula 1 season and, as usual, will show all practice sessions, qualifying and the race live and without commercial breaks. At the side of commentator Sascha Roos, Sky expert Ralf Schumacher will guide through the race and qualifying. Sky reporter Peter Hardenacke catches votes at the Red Bull Ring.

What Sky also has in its program: the press conferences for drivers and team bosses on Thursday and Friday, plus the top 3 press conferences after qualifying and the race. And: Thanks to the close cooperation with “Sky Sports F1” in England and “Sky Italia” in Italy, German fans are offered additional content on Sky.

Due to the withdrawal of RTL, the paid TV channel Sky will become the exclusive TV partner of Formula 1 in Germany in the Formula 1 season in 2021.

At ORF in Austria, the well-rehearsed duo consisting of Ernst Hausleitner and the former Formula 1 driver Alexander Wurz will also comment in the 2020 Formula 1 season. They usually start reporting for the second free practice on Friday, each time live.

The ORF Formula 1 contract runs until the end of 2020. However, Austrian television recently confirmed that it will continue its Formula 1 TV broadcasts in cooperation with ServusTV Austria.
