After being criticized by the President of the United States, New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees decided to respond to Donald Trump by posting a note to him on his Instagram account.

Before delving into the 41-year-old pivotal missive, you have to understand where this controversy comes from.
While the United States is the scene of demonstrations to denounce systemic racism, Brees said he had trouble with people who did not respect the American flag and he found that it was a lack of respect for his two grandfathers who fought in WWII. He was strongly criticized for the comment and later became apologetic. That’s when Trump decided to add his grain of salt.
“I am a big fan of Drew Brees. He’s really one of the tallest quarterbacks, but he shouldn’t have gone back on his position about respecting our beautiful American flag. […] We should stand tall and tall, ideally with a greeting or a hand on our hearts. There are things we can protest about, but not our big American flag – NO KNEE ON THE GROUND, “the colorful American president wrote on Twitter on Friday.
Recognize the problem
In his note, Brees now wanted to make it clear to Trump that this was a much bigger deal than the flag.
“After having discussions with my friends, my teammates and leaders of the black community, I realize that this is not about the American flag,” said Brees in the letter posted on his Instagram account. It never has been. We can no longer use the flag to discredit people or distract them from the real problems facing our black communities. ”
“We absolutely must stop talking about the flag and we must focus on the real issues, systemic racism, economic oppression, police brutality and judicial reform,” added the quarter. As a member of the white community, we must listen and learn from the pain and suffering of our black communities. We need to recognize the problem, identify solutions and take action. The black community cannot do this alone. It will require each of us. “
