No Ballon d’Or this year, never mind! The editorial staff of Sports.fr and Football.fr invite you to nominate your best player for the 2019-2020 season.
It’s been almost three weeks that you designate day after day your favorites for the honorary title of best player of the last season. Obviously disrupted by the global health crisis, the 2019-2020 football exercise nonetheless delivered some great pieces of bravery, beautiful champions, beautiful dolphins and European tournaments as unusual as they are exciting.
The votes of our editorial staff initially led to a list of 16 players. 16 footballers then distributed by drawing lots in a table opening at the stage of the round of 16. For duels which in turn delivered their verdicts. Haaland, Müller, Immobile, Van Dijk, Lukaku, Ramos, Mbappé and Sancho fell from the first landing. Then Neuer, Neymar, De Bruyne and Mané in quarterfinals.
The last square, flamboyant, brought together Messi, Ronaldo, Benzema and Lewandowski. After an ultra-close duel between Karim Benzema and Lionel Messi (51.2% of the vote in favor of the Argentinian on all our sites and social networks), Cristiano Ronaldo joined his eternal rival in the final by dominating Robert Lewandowski. Also in the snatch (52.2% of the vote). The ultimate poster of our big tournament therefore pits the two most iconic players of the past 15 years against each other. Two icons that weigh no less than 11 Ballons d’Or between them. It’s up to you to decide between them!
